# Payment

> How quota works, current discounts, and supported payment options

## Quota and billing model

* Midjourney Api uses `quota` as its billing unit, where `1 USD = 130 quota`
* For example, a task that costs `2 quota` consumes `$0.015`
* Midjourney Api uses a prepaid model, so usage is deducted from your existing balance
* Purchased quota is currently **non-expiring**

## Volume discounts

* A single \$60 top-up receives an extra 2% quota.
* A single \$120 top-up receives an extra 5% quota.
* A single \$1200 top-up receives an extra 10% quota.
